Her Spirit Lives In Us:
Immigrant Mother's Legacy of Love
by Jimmie Lou Watson
You'll laugh! You'll cry! You will
want to share this story with everyone, young and old. The true story of Karolina Franek, a young Polish immigrant to America in 1913, and her succeeding four generations. From bootlegging in a coal-mining town in West Virginia
in order to feed her eight American-born children, to a grandson on the cutting edge of solar research engineering in Arizona, Karolina's spirit lives on today.
Jimmie Lou Watson is a wife,
mother, and Scottsdale teacher who holds three academic degrees
from Arizona State University. She recorded this anecdotal
history to share the determination, faith, and love of her
grandmother and mother which helped make America a great nation.
